Long story short: I asked Layla for a one-sentence Topher/River story, and she went in a very different (but intriguing!) direction than I would’ve, and she asked to see my take on it. So that’s what this is.
They might be intellectual equals - they have debates about this frequently with no conclusive results - but she is the dominant one in the relationship (Topher likes it that way).
